How to embed fonts in Flash


1. Open your Adobe Flash CS3 software and create a new file (File/New/Flash File (ActionScript 3.0))

2. For the new font to work we need to embed it in Flash’s Library also. Click the Library’s contextual menu and select New Font like in the image below :



3. From the pop-up window that appears choose the normal Verdana font, size 12 and name it "FontVerdana" (it doesn't have to have the exact name of the font) like so:



Press OK

4. If you need to use some other type faces of the Verdana font (not just the regular), you need to embed them separately, otherwise only the regular Verdana type face will be embedded:



5. Right click on your newly created font on the document library and select Linkage. Select the Export for Action Script check box :





6. If a dialog box is displayed saying that a class name will be generated automatically, just press OK to close it:



7. The same goes for the bold type face. You need to set a linkage id (class name in AS3) for it:
