Thumbnail List is a navigation component that enables you to load a set of images, swf's or symbols from library, fed from an xml file, through which you can scroll with the help of scroll bars, mouse movement or mouse dragging.

Q: Can I make the ThumbnailListPro select a random thumbnail from the folder and refresh after a period of time?

For example:
If i got 60 images in my folder, can i set the "thumbnail list pro" to load 20 images randomly at one time, and refresh after 20s?
A: The only way to change the images in the thumbnails is to change the xml file that contains the list of images. You can feed one list through the xml file and after the time interval you need, change the images by setting another xml file containing a new list. You can also assign the xml feed through the component's setXML() method which can receive a XML object as parameter.

I have a directory of pictures. There are many pictures so creating xml manually is impossible. I want flash to load xml file for the thumblist.

Flash is not able to access the file system and retrieve information and file references. You should use some other scripting language (like php) or even Adobe Air to access work with the file system.
