MCTE V3 (MovieClip Transition Effect V3)
A transition effect component with lots lots of flash animation effects already included and lots of patterns sold separately. Here are all known common issues for MCTE V3, the custom patterns are treated here too. If you have any questions that you think we should discuss here please let us know. Write to support.
MCTE + Loader Pro V3 slide show
(2007-07-10 - views: 12143)
Q: How to create slide shows using MCTE and Loader Pro V3.
A: Since many customers are asking about how to combine the Loader Pro v3 with the MCTE component in order to create a slide show, here are two basic examples. First of all we need to mention that the MCTE is applying an effect over a movieclip. We've modified the Loader Pro v3 component to work with the MCTE, the MCTE can apply an effect on the content path of the Loader Pro v3 (this is working only with the Loader Pro v3 component). In order to create a slide show or a gallery you need to have some actionscript knowledges. This article is only a guidance and it's using the trial version of these two components so it will work only inside your Flash IDE.
Attached are two different examples. One with images loaded from a folder using actionscript and the second one with images loaded from a folder using an XML file. You'll find functions inside each example. You can call these functions on buttons to go to next/previous image or play/stop the slideshow.

Slide Show with SmartSlide
SmartSlide works well with the Loader component from the example above. If by "not behave the way smart slide should work" you mean that it doesn't behave like our example on the pattern's web page, you are right. The loader component can only apply the show transition of the SmartSlide and the example on our site uses transitionTo and transitionFrom. This means that if you want to achieve the same result, you'll have to load the images without using the loader.

Multiple transitions using this example
Hi,
Is it possible to use multiple transitions in this example?
Because all transitions in the example are using the square when loading pictures.
Can you show an example that loads picture paths from xml and uses multiple transitions?.
Thankx

Too complicated
Dear Jumpeye team, first let me say that I really like the output of your products, but I have a small comment about them... I've downloaded some of your demo products for testing... my question is there another help files that you provide with the retail versions!! because I really don't think that the help in the demo is enough to get things going ... for example you provide an example about loading a slide show from xml which I found really great ... but since then I'm trying to get them use diffrent transitions , but No luck!! I'm sure there is a way (you provide an example multiple transitions by frame animation) but there is no example for the same done with xml or from folders.
I need to know if this is possible? and if it can support custompatterns too.
Thankx again

Yes, you can apply multiple transitions but you'll need to do it by code. We have an item in our knowledge base that shows you how to do it: http://www.jumpeyecomponents.com/knowledgebase/MCTE-V3-%28MovieClip-Transition-Effect-V3%29/Multiple-

Too complicated "Follow-up"
Thank you for the reply but first the example you redirect me to is NOT using the Loader and second it's not using xml !! instead it's using picutres embedded in the Lib and loaded in an empty (MC)
Can you please redirect me to an example that uses both (multiple transitions on pictures (path from xml) using the Loader Pro)
I appreciate your help
Thankx

honest word
I think I'll search for other solutions Like AdvancedLoaderPro which does support automatic transitions and has a built-in loader and draws picture filenames from xml or folder... as I said before you have a very nice variety of transitions but each needs so much coding that one can follow the so many tutorials on the web and can get the same effect with the same effort... forgive my honesty but I really was expecting to see some reply ...
I'll come back to this page to see a reply
thankx anyway

Sorry for the late response, but since this is not a forum, we won't be answering the comments right away.
I'm sorry that you couldn't use the examples in our knowledge base. We have an example that uses MCTE with different patterns by code and another one that applies MCTE on images loaded from a .xml file. You just need to combine them to create your own application.
At that time we didn't consider that we should create such an example because we put all the necessary resources to our clients (the two examples and documentation of MCTE) so they can do it themselves. If this task seems to advanced to your coding skills, we'll post an example in our knowledge base. Unfortunately I cannot tell when that will be, because we're really tied down with FlashEff at the moment. Hopefully it will be ready and posted by the end of next week, but it's not sure.
Again, I'm sorry for not being able to provide you with that example. For other examples or help integrating our components into your applications, you could write to our support team and ask for help, but depending on what you need, you might be charged for them.
Thank you for your comments.

I really thank you for your reply, and you are right I realize that this is not a forum but I didn't find else where to post in this concern... anyway I managed to combine both examples "not sure though if what I did is the best way to do this" ... but it is working.
Thanks again I do feel encouraged to purchase even more products because support is more important than the product itself and I found that you do read and reply to your users ...
Only one comment when I switch to the full screen mode the transition seems to hang for a moment and then continue "same happens on your example files" I don't know if this is a known issue.
I'm using AS2, Flash CS3, on windows XP pro.
All the best...
And keep the good work going

Thank you for the kind words. We just posted an item in our knowledge base that shows you how to extend the example above to use different patterns randomly, on images loaded from an external .xml file:
https://www.jumpeyecomponents.com/knowledgebase/MCTE-V3-%28MovieClip-Transition-Effect-V3%29/
MCTE-%2B-LoaderProV3-%2B-Multiple-transitions~811/
I hope it will help you out.
Regarding the full screen problem, it's quite normal what is happening, since many of the effects are CPU intensive.

Yes, you can use MCTE with 3DCube pattern and xml to make a slideshow. Unfortunately we don't have such an example but you could open a new support ticket and write there a detailed description of what you are trying to achieve and shortly you will get an answer. Please click the link below in order to open a support ticket.

Trial to Full
Thanks for reply.. what if the component in the trial file library is not the same as in the component list?
In this example the component is named (LoaderProV3x) not (LoaderProV3), seems like its modified or something. when I replace it, it stops working.

redownload the compoentn from your jumpeyecomponents account
Please redownload the component from your jumpeyecomponents account and reinstall it. In that way you will be sure that you are using the latest version of the component.

(LoaderProV3x) and (LoaderProV3)?
what is the different between (LoaderProV3x) and (LoaderProV3)?
And if I have only LoaderProV3 how can I convert it to LoaderProV3x the same one as in the tutorial?
I downloaded the latest version and its (LoaderProV3).

Loader LoaderProV3 is an older version of the component and it does not supports MCTE transitions by default. You can not convert LoaderProV3 into LoaderProV3x you can only replace the LoaderProV3 with LoaderProV3x in the library .

MCTE, LoaderPro, and External/Custom Pattern problem
Hi, this example almosts works for me...the problem is that it stops after one transition.
I'm trying to load SWFs using the XML method. It works as long as I use a built-transition, but when I try to use the "FlipPage" transition, it stops after one flip. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
How can it be modified to use smart slide. At the moment when I change the custompattern to MCTEPatternSmartSlide. It does not behave the way smart slide should work.
