Add different styles for each main items.

Q: I am trying to figure out how to change the colors so that each main item name has a different color box. Is there a way to make each of these parent styles a different color?
A: In order to change the color of the main items of your menu, you should create a separate style for each main item. If you have 4 main items, you should create 4 styles inside the xml file and inside your fla file as well. Please read the Apply themes and Customizing themes tutorials in order to better understand how to work with 1 style. Then you'll have to multiply your styles and apply a different style for each item. If you're using the childStyle property, the style will be applied on the sub items. If you want to apply a style on the item, simply use style instead of childStyle on the item (inside the XML file). On the attached example I've already applied the ATMThemeOrangeD1 theme then I've multiplied the style1 folder inside the flash file's Library.
